66444 W' E, the Seniors of 1948 as we close our last and perhaps, best year of faithful attendance at the Ovid High School, feel that it would be very unkind of us not be bequeath some of our wonderful char acterlstics to those who will try so much in the years following to be like that memorable class of 1948. We know our leaving is one of the saddest events that has ever taken place at this school, and while we also are sorry to end those happy school days, we feel that we must go on to that which ls ln store for each of us. We leave the following to those who must carry on ln our place next year: Jay Fritts leaves his startling history ability to Paul 0'Connell. Norma Swick leaves her seat in the library to Jane Harris. Howard Lincoln leaves the office of President in the F. F.A. to Norman Skinner. Ruth VanVleet leaves her sheep-herding to Torrey Frltts. Edwin Smith leaves his studlous brain to Jimmy Mannix. Ruth Herrala leaves her magnificent flgure to June Boyce. Ted Bingaman leaves his supply of corny jokes to Bill Keill. Muriel Gahn leaves all her love to Jerry Reed. Johnny Maleski leaves his new Frazer to Lynn Cashady and Douglas Wyckoff to help them get started with the girls. Dorothea Herbert leaves her way with men to Joann Hay. Gerald Brewer leaves his interest ln mechanics to Floyd Covert. Audrey Cassidy leaves her way with Jimmy Mannix to Elaine Vreeland. Irving Stevens leaves his ability to get along with teachers to Jimmie Baldwin. CDoes he need lt?J Olga Sabol leaves her screaming to Marilyn Lynch. Richard Harding leaves his liking for the girls to Jack Maher. Wlnifred Jennings leaves her reckless driving to Joanne VanNostrand and we hope she will keep both hands on the wheel. Teresa Kaiser gives several empty bottles of Freckle Remover to Mary Jean Dlmmlck with the sad conclusion that none of them did any good. William Schramm leaves his shy Q71 come hither ability to Melvin Quinn. Elva Jacoby leaves her temper to Ruth Voorhees. Paul Munson leaves his Ford to Walter Springsteen because the Chevrolet looks a bit run down. Joan Murphy leaves her Sampson College boy-friends to Joyce Whitney and Shirley Lynch. Jack Quinn leaves his dancing to Bill Webster and Donald Griffin. June Russell leaves her scholarship to Betty McDonald. Seward Brooks leaves his gas truck to Gordon Boyce. Beverly Brokaw leaves her rhumba dancing to Phyllis Jordan. Arthur Lynch and Leroy Swick leave their shyness to Henry Covert. Marjorie Miller leaves her fiery red hair to Joann Jackson. May Nicholson leaves her engagement ring to Rosalie Holmes. Helen Lochren leaves a rat trap to. Diana Caulum to aid her in catching Bill. Eva Heymann leaves her bangs to Joanne McFadden. Alice Beach leaves her giggles to Lucille Poth. Ann Simpson leaves her studying to Evelyn Mlkkelsen. Dorothy Miller leaves her mathematical ability to Roberta Homyack. The Senior girls leave all the Junior boys to Marie 'Buggles and Marianne Hanson. We can't leave Bob Ferguson anything, he has his goats. The Senior Class as a whole leaves the following: Any over-looked cuds of gum we have left adhering to the underside of desks or bannlsters to the Juniors. Our good looks and beautiful complexlons to the Sophomores who are trying so hard to be seen and heard in the world. To Mrs. Depew we leave a bottle of Kolor Back to erase any gray hairs we may have caused. Leroy Swick 20
