Evening’s Spotlight on Leanne Parents gather on the sideline with their cameras. Billie Jackson checks to make sure each member of the court is in place. Christy Chiles prepares her notes in the press box. The band, now on the field, begins to play ‘Daybreak’. Ir is now 7 p.m. on October 10 and the pregame Homecoming ceremony has begun. The queen nominees are announced after the duchesses and dukes have taken their places. They are: Periann Allen, Leanne Austin, Susan Cox, and Donanne Skeen. The votes have been counted and “The 1980.84 Homecoming Queen is Miss Leanne Austin.” 1. Jeff Grammier isisses Queen Leanne Austin, as Shawn Gaddis, Patti Stephens, and Cindy Wright patiently woir. 2. Recently crowned queen, Leanne Austin enjoys the half-time show with Jeff Grammier. 3. Eighth and seventh grade duchesses, Angie Kilgore and Tina Hankins, anxious: ly wait for the pre-game ceremony to begin. 4. Joey Johnson-and Paul Brown battle for yards. 5. Missy Gardner, Vicki Graham, Rexann Grandstaff, and Margaret Montgomery are spell-oound by rhe activiry on the field. 6. Duchess Cindy Furqueron assists her cousin, Donanne Skeen,. as she prepares for the Homecoming Queen Coronation. 7. Felicia Rinehart, Teresa Uftsey, Christy Chiles, Sonja Smith, Robbi Young, Cheryl Ellioft, Martha and Tracy McCartor smile as they finish their hat routine to the theme song of Dallas’. 8. Sixth graders: Lisa Webb, Melynda Wright, Leann Jackson, and Laura Bell arrive early ro insure a good sear. 9. Student Council Secrerary, Christy Chiles, has the honor of announcing the 1980 Homecoming Queen and court. 10. The elementary courl members are: Shawn Gaddis and Patti Stephens, Kindergarten; John Glover and Amy Duncan. ‘st; David Croteau and Angela Cagle, 2nd; Scott Davis and Mary Rice Rouquette, ord; David Riddle and Amy Stribble, 4th. Dean Sims and Holly Welch, 5th; and Randy Stanley and Carla Stephens, 6th. 11. Robbi Young pins Chery! Elliot's mum back on after the rwirlers’ performance. 12. Glendale Whitten, Tommy Hoofen, and Lou Hankins watch as the Hornecoming court is announced.
