Homecoming Week ignites Spirit Homecoming week, October 6-10, was crammed full of exciting events. The activities were announced on Monday during an assembly called by the Student Council. The week's sched- ule was: Tuesday - Sock Day, Wednesday - Crazy Hat Day, Thursday - Fifties Day, and Friday - Green and White Day. Other highlights included a pie eating contest held at the Thursday afternoon assembly in the gym, a Friday morning pep rally, and culminated downtown for the traditional Fri- day afternoon pep rally. 1. Periann Allen and Dena Graham receive a helping hand from Alan Gieb at the downtown pep rally. 2. Students beam on Hart Day, since school has been dismissed at noon due fo all water being cut-off. 3. Congratulations are in order for Mary Sanders and Joey Johnson, vored Best Dressed on Fifties Day. 4. Repre- sentative of many feet on Sock Day are those of Leslie Pitts and Becky Mallette. 5. Seniors: Greg Lovett, Jeff Grammier, Rich- ard Wilson, and Gary Clark cheer pie eater, Toby White, to victory by chanting ‘Eat, Toby, Ear!’’. 6. Coach Maynard seeks the support of the fans for the homecoming game. 7. Mary Rice Rouquette, Amy Stribble, and David Riddle anxiously await the start of practice for Friday evening's ceremony. 8. Bringing the fifties back to life are these eighth grade girls. 9. Elementary students prefer downtown pep rally to afternoon academics. 40. Seniors, Gretta Carter and Rexann Grandstaff spread spirit chains which reveal thar the seniors have won! 14. Mr. Beene and his musicians set the tempo for pep rally. 12. Anxiety is obvious among foorball players at the homecoming pep rally.
