Do you remember when? There are all of those special moments in High School: the thrill of being in lr. High, of becoming a seventh graderg then in the eighth grade you are an upper classman. During your first year in High School, it starts over again. Freshmen are constantly getting in trouble for something. As a sophomore, you begin to get into the full swing of things by joining clubs, and trying out for teams. As a junior you plan for the banquet, if the seniors could only remember -. You can't help envying the seniors, because they will be out very soon. The seniors are waiting very impatiently for graduation, but at the same time realizing that O.H.S. will soon be just a memory. All these times are like looking through a window, you look back and know that they are only memories on the other side of that window. Now you must keep looking forward, and go after your goals for today. 2 E I 3 I I x 2 E a 1 1 The Beginning of School Brought Many New Thingsg New Teachers, Competition in Sports, and Getting Ready For Contests. She is a very important lady in the Overton High faculty, Mrs. Pat Gardner is determined and willing, is involved in many things. She is the sponsor of the annual and works very hard to see it is a good one. She is active in U.I.L. Typing and U.I.L. Shorthand. Her most important involvement is students. She always helps the students any way that she can, especially being there to listen to our problems. We proudly dedicate the 78 Los Tejas to you, Mrs. Gardner. We have learned many new and interesting things, and we have grown to understand ourselves more. Shown here are some of the projects we have done some of which have included: a trip to the Dallas Fair, signs to raise school spirit, and an Open House for students and faculty. We have had some tough times but all in all it was a great year. We owe it all to Mrs. Rouquette who was here for only a year but made it one of our greatest years. She also taught us how t care for children's needs and other family deeds. For wj are the future homemakers and Bakers and etc. . . . Our agriculture boys find lots of joys with building and farming, so the future upon them won't be so alarming. So we give many thanks to their teacher Mr. Price who is tops in our ranks. Is victory really winning the game? If that's all it is, it's really a shame, For winning cannot be measured by a score. Winning is truly very much more.
