-Q.: . xt., A4 ks, nyone fore tennis? TENNISXGOLF Volleys, serves, smashes, labs, These were some of the everyday terms used by the tennis team. This team was a group of individuals with one thing in mind: winning. Kill to win, was Jr. David Tolson's attitude. David had a sure-tire winning technique that he used faithfully, Whenever we had a really big match, l'd always wear my green and blue striped boxers. I never lost when I wore them! However, winning was only achieved after a lot of dedication and hard work, The team practiced every day after school as well as over the summer, But all work and no play can get quite boring. Soph. Tony Oakes de- scribed how he made practice more exciting, 'lWe'd buy Big Gulps at 7-'ll and pick on the freshmen. Overall, the season went well with the tennis team winning the Aurora City Cham- pionships. Jr. Steve Hayutin summed up his feeling for the season by saying, lt's not whether you win or lose, as long as you win. Winning was also on the minds of the members of the golf team. We had a lot of individual talent on the team which really helped us to win, said Jr. Rick Burnside. The golfers worked hard at their swings at Aurora Hills Golf Course after school as well as during the summer. Overall, the team did very well taking four members to state competi- tion and placing seventh. The best thing about the season ace kgs, cording to Sr. Steve Wallen hr was the individual types of people on the team. Everyone got along really well and being so different seemed to bring us closer together. Sr. Brad John- son summed up his feelings by saying, l'This is probably the best team we'll have for a long time, I go to the tennis matches 66 to watch Erik Zundel and Tim Oakes run around in Trying toavoidthegeese,Jr. Rick Burnside fheif 5h0r1'5! hopes for a hole in one Rick is getting .S Scott Gary Hoping for a birdie, Fr.
