'ls the Season to . . . The funffilled holiday season arrived once again, kicking off with wicked ol' Halloween. Sure it was on a school night, but when it's time to celebrate, what does that have to do with it? Students found various ways to make Halloween memorable, Sr. Melanie Mayer spent her evening trick- or-treating in a golf cart in Indiana, 'lFour of us were packed in the cart cruising down a hill which was wet, we lost control of the cart, spun, and rolled it. We all flew out head first into a pile of leaves. Jr. Bob Rob Medina celebrated in the tradi- tional graveyard scene. My friend and l went to Fairmont, and he tried to cast a spell, it didn't work, but I got a good laugh out of it. Though there was a snowstorm, not to men tion a traveler's advisory, which didn't prevent the Halloween spirit from prevailing. Sr. Ni- cole Vialpondo said, We went to the Mall Does Mr. Ellis really cook on Thanksgiving? wonder Srs. Sean Millis, Todd Dolbier, and Steve Dleistein. Sandra Rhodes and Michelle Allumbaugh laugh as they plan a Hallow- een prank over the balcony 86 Activities Crawl in Boulder, we got a lot of costume ideas for next year. There were some very hot Mad Max costumes to complement the cold weathe er. Thanksgiving may HOT be as exciting as Half loween, but it certainly had a bit of a kick to it for teacher and Activities Director Ed Ellis. Long before the day arrived, the students in his AP, History class took one of his manyiokes literally, as half of them arrived at his home on Thanksf giving. Ellis said, 'll was in the front of my house, digging in the garden and wearing my fatigues when they drove up. It was o wonderf ful surprise! I thought it was neat that they took the time out of their holiday to visit me. The students were more than happy to see their favorite teacher on o day reknown for appre- ciation, Sr. Todd Dolbier said, lt was really touching. He looked like a farmer digging up his flowers. He was extremely gracious to us. Students expressed guite contradicting views about the meaning of Christmas. Surprisingly, to a great many students Christmas meant a long awaited twofweek vacation more than the holiday itself. But for Sr. Steve Gowen it had a deeper meaning, I enioyed spending time with my family for a change. Sr. Laura Roddy expressed her sentiments toward the Christmas specials on TV. Watch ing the Christmas program Nester was the best part about Christmas. lt made me cry. Christmas meant palm trees for Sr. Derek Weingart. 'll went to Hawaii for Christmas with my family. lt was the best present l have ever gotten. Some felt little Christmas spirit at all.
