une for and before our time In the beginning there was only darlsness. Then the lights hit, the ' music burst out, and the stage came alive with sound and motion. It was the Air Band concert, alive and roclslng, The groups ranged from the now popular Madonna and Ready for the World, to the favorite oldies, such as Boston, Sha Na Na, The Beatles, and even the Ising oi rocls, Elvis Presley. The ticlsets sold out one day before the con- cert, which showed how popular Alr Band real ly was, l'It's the number one activity that every- one attendsf' said Activities Director Ed Ellis. He was right. The reason was because there was such a variety in music. There was some- thing for everyone. The range in music Isept everyone entertained. Also the super lab and the flashy change of costumes by MCs Jrs. Steve Bowman and Evan Armatas made the evening even better. On the night ot the con cert Evan replaced Jr. Rob Cohen who, along with Steve, was in charge of the entire pro- gram. People went to Air Band for different rea- sons. I thought it would be a real blast, and I wanted to show school spirit, said Jr. Scott Lenamond. Othersjust went to see their friends malse tools of themselves up on stage, and still others went to hear some great music and have some fun. Not many people were disape pointed. Said Soph. DeeDee Johnson, I ex- pected it to be boring, but it ended up being better than I thought it would be. People Iools more organized. The bands all had a great time too. 'llt was lilee one big family, It was more fun than worls, because we were so close, said Sr. Kelly Wil- liams about the band she was in, Otis Day and the Nights. Many of the bands got together for rehearsals and ended up having a super time , , -,,. i ..- -w it together, but there was always some worls involved, For the winners, though, it was all worth it. Fourth place was given to The Beatles, consisting of Srs. Tom Rampy, Todd Dolbier, Justin Bilyeu, and Russ Horwitz. Third was Elvis Presley, played by Sr. Devin Crowley, and second was the band Ready For The World, made up of Sophs. Maurice Sparks, Danny Allen, Dan Derrera, Corey Wynn, and Jr. Rob Martin. The band that tools the grand prize ot 5100 was Otis Day and the Nights. The band members were Srs. Daryl Johnson, KellyandShelly Williams,VickiHarris, Wade Young, Jeff Barber, Scott Aden, Stephanie Erpelding, Kim Oliver, and Jr. Micki Hannon. l'l blew the prize money on pizza, said Sr. Daryl Johnson. Everyone seemed happy with the winners, who, dressed in togas, prepared the audience for the next day's themeYToga Day. All in all it was o night to remember.
