The rypicol freshman ond sophomore were found sirring in o physical science, eorrh science, or biology closs. For the upperclossmen there were chemisrry, physics, both, or neirher. Then for rhose srudenrs who wished ro excel, there were two new science courses offered: l-lumon Physiology and Orgonic Chemistry. Because of the increased enrollmenr rhe science depart- ment odded four new reachers. To further ime prove rhe ouoliry of the staff, the reochers dedi- cated their time oy raising classes ro improve their reaching rechnigues. Science deporrmenr coordinator Ted Tsumura happily said, l'The science reochers are very professional ond love ro see improvement mode each year. With access ro many compurers the moth srudenrs became more lsnowledgeaple in the computer field with such courses os Computer Progromming and Computer Science. Sr. Dan Solomon said, Compurersjusr can'r be ovoide ed, rhey're in our future so l figure l berrer learn how ro use them. Some upperclossmen rool-Q odvonced courses such os Calculus, Moth Analy- sis, ond AP Computer Science. Then there were the olgeoro eguarions ond the geometry proofs rhor mosr srudenrs dreoded. New ro reaching geometry, moth teacher Denise Bourg said, l rhinls rhor geometry is o chollenging course ro reoch, our l've enjoyed ir.
