For some, a lsiss on the cheels, holding hands in the halls, or a winls across the library was enough to malse students thinls they were involved in a serious relationship. A few seniors, however, were fortunate enough to dis- cover how special a relationship was. Tim Rosenzweig and Starlite Dean were two seniors who were more than just casual dates. Starlite is not just a girlfriend, she is my best friend, said Tim. Star felt the same way about Tim. Tim malses my senior year worthwhile, said Star. Another close couple were seniors Kevin Gregory and Jenny Bershof. They had been together for almost six years and had serious plans for the future. l've been going out with Jenny since seventh grade and our relationship has grown into something really special, said Kevin. Although many seniors were able to experience a long term relationship with someone, some didn't want anything too serious, Jennifer West was one senior who was not Gary Schaefer: NHS 10, 11, 12, NFHS 10, 11, 12, Political Awareness 12, Chess Club 10 Jim Schaefer: DECA 11, 12, Ironman C'ub10, 11, 12 Chris Scheffler: NHS 10, 11, 12, Newspaper 10, Latin Club 12 Kim Schenkenberger: Student Govt Q, 12 Michelle Scher: Swimming 10, lnd Arts 10, 11, 12, Blazer Power 10, 11, Tracie Mgr 10 Bill Schloeman: Football Q 12 Susan Schmauder: Tennis O 12, O Club 10, Student Govt Q, 10, Baseoal' Mgr 10 Katie Schreck: Cheerleader 912, NHS 11, 12, NHAS 10, Proj Closeup 12, SADD 11, 12, Slat Club O, 10, Student Govt Q' 12, Choir 10, 11, 12 l l Leslie Seick: Tracie Q, Student Govt 10, 11, 12, Literary Mag 11, 12, Yeatboolf 11, 12, Quill and Scroll 11, 12, lloslsetboll Mgr Q, 10 Dave Self Lisa Shaw: Tennis 10, 12 Tracy Sheppard: Soccer 912, Poms 11, Boslsetball 10, 11, 12, Volleyball 9, Slst Club O, 10, Soccer Mgr Q, 10, 11 1541 loolsing for a serious relationship. ul would rather have many boy friends than a serious date, said Jennifer. l'mjusr not ready for a commitment, she added. Still others couldn't afford to have anything but an occa- sional date. Students who participated in athletics didn't have time to hold down ajob, play their sport, go to school, and have a boyfriendfgirlfriend, To these students a relae tionship was not a number one priority, Seniors Barry Lutterman and Kristi Woodward had a very erratic but normal relationship. One day they'd be fighting and the next day they were best friends. l'ln a way, it malses things more interesting, said Kristi. lt doesn't mean you love the person less, it just proves you care enough to try to malse things better, she added. Whether they werejust friends or something more, most seniors agreed it was nice to have someone to talls to or to hug whenever they wanted. i F . t ' M rl t 1 t,,-- , i , .52 -TS 1 .4 i- 3 3 ,,,,, ' . lg ifl
