live in the summer of 1985! Toward the middle of August students were faced with the grim reality of returning to school. There was no denying it when the regis- tration paclsets arrived in the mail and the persist' tent pacls-toeschool commercials flooded the ty, set. Some students felt a desperation in cele' orating the final days of recleless freedom: sum- mer. They found a variety of ways to put a final thrill into their summer. Sr. Rachel Makinen camped out overnight for George Thorogood, and got second row center and no sleep! It was great! Fr. Cyndi Brock and her friend Sylvan tray' elled to Golden. We went to Colorado School of Mines to a huge patty, similar to the one in Animal House, and played a game of Beer Pong. Sr. Randy Grass spent money during his final lltivy nth l going to find my classes? Fr. I rented a stretchflimousine and tools my girlfriend to Mon Petite restaurant for dinner and then to Boulder for a going away present, because she was going to college. Finally, Sr. Scott Martin stayed close to home out ended his summer with a splash. 'll went waterslsiing for the last time and for sentimental value, Joe Funk, Bruce Givens, Wade Young, and I had a wipefout contest, Regardless of how they spent them, students realized that thrill of summer days would soon oe gone.
