This year's Student Director was Karen Raven. Brian Farr was named as next year's Student Director. Karen Raven and Gina Pizzutilla were honored by the band as the most outstanding musicians. Mrs. l..aVerne Lewis, our very own art teacher sang The 'Great- est Love of All' with the Jazz Band as accompaniment. 25

The Spring Choral Concert was held on May 21, 1987, The Choral Concert was accompa- nied with an Art Exhibit. J. Miller accompanied the chorus on the piano. L.. Chiaravolloti, L. Franklin, D. Legrand, C. Sabato, and K. Henley were featured with solos. L. Franklin played a flute accompaniment on one of the numbers. E. Baker, R. Cheatham, and R Deiaine performed a Modern Dance Improvisation. L. Franklin was this year 's Student Director. As Landis once said, The principal of education is self-develop ment. Each person is unique. As you study works of art, you grow in awareness of yourself, as well as an understanding of yourself, of the world around you, and the place of the arts in a good life. X. N.
