FATHER HERBERT To our devoted chaplain. Reverend Herbert Klosterkemper. O.F.M.. we owe a rich development of our spiritual outh look this year. In all of Father's sermons and talks he gave us wonderful ideals to cultivate, and be elicited in us acts and qualities proper to young Catholic 1 girls. The Juniors and Seniors attended the talks given by Father on Marriage. To all. Father Herbert's instructions and advice were most practical and inspira- tional. MISSION UNIT The Mission Unit of Our Lady of Mcrcyi is one of the most enthusiastic organizations of the school and a con- stant source of student activity. Not only do the emcers do all they can for the Missions, but each individual mem- ber faithfully seconds them. The officers of the Unit are: Sylvia Schmidt, Presi- dent: Shirley Dcwald, Vice President: Ruth Ridge, Treasurer; Julia Mae Zirkelbach, Secretary. SCIENCE CLUB A Science Club was organized at Our Lady Of Mercy High School in 194-5, With a membership of fiftyvsix students, especially interested in Scientific achievement. The aim of the Club is to acquire scientific knowledge and an appreciation of the works of nature. , Devotion to God, Country, Home, accompanied by friendliness and cheerful service, is to characterize individual effort, Each member must be loyal, trustworthy, and courteous. thciency in Class Work, a minimum grade of 8570 in each department, and excellent deportment at all times are necessary requirements. In December 1946, Our Lady of Mercy Science Club became affiliated with the Triple A. C. Diocesan Science Club. At stated times this Club holds general meetings, at which some prominent educator gives a scientific talk and recent scientific achievements are discussed,
