Oqufstia c74atim'tis5, In line with our countryk great stress upon im- proving and maintaining the health of the nation, an even greater importance was given to gym activities this year. The Freshman Classes were appreciative of the opportunity given to them to learn the rudiments of a perfect tennis game. They studied not only its rules and regulations, but the part this form of exercise plays in keeping the body fit. Volley-ball is alwaysa major athletic activity at Mercy. An evidence of its importance in the athletic curriculum was the purchase of new gym suits and equipment. The main gymnastic interest of the Seniors was bowling. The Senior bowling season began on the first day Of National Bowling Wreck, with the begin- ners learning the basic rules, and the veteran bowlers brushing up on the fine points. Page 45
