outa sTuDE T GOVERNMENT Government of the students, by the students for the students. . . This statement contains the essence of Wisdom's government. At the beginning of each term, senior candidates for school of- fices are chosen by the girls of the senior class. The vigorous campaign which ensues is climaxed on the day the girls cast their votes for their chosen officials. Later, of- ficers are elected from each individual class. They receive pins as insignia of their office. All the class presidents consitute the Student Congress, which meets every other week to discuss matters, under the direction of their faculty moderator, Sister Margaret. Each student is required to obey certain rules, for the infraction of which she re- ceives a summons. This necessitates an ap- pearance before the Student Court, which consists of a Chief Justice, four associate iudges, a court chaser, bailiff, secretary, as- secretary and porter. The Chief sistant Justice inflicts various penalties in proportion to the gravity of the offense.
