Juniors receiving aca- demic letters are Mary Jo Kyle, Maryam Bethell, and Paula Prachyl. Maryam Bethell and Ioan Konecny receive trophy for school as recognition for high rating for three con- secutive years in a national Latin test. Awards Night Focuses Affenfion To give permanent, prominent, and public form of recognition to academic excellence, outstanding honor students receive a varsity chenille letter. To earn a letter for academic excellence, a student of the Boys' Division must achieve an overall point average of 3. O or better. In the Girls' Division, students who main- tain an average of 3, 5 or better receive an academic letter. Underclassmen receive these letters and awards for superior work in particular subject fields on Awards Night. Seniors receive their letters on Class Night. Seniors who receive Academic letters and are not pic- tured are Scott Berschig, Dennis Bouldin, David Fuer- tsch, Robert Hopkins, Edward Lunt, James Sims, Don- ald Smith, Johanna Bannon, Patricia Connelly, Joan Konecny, Kathleen Maday, Joyce O'Byrne, and Alive Phillips. Brother John Kurz, S. M. presents awards to Latin honor students. Sister Elizabeth presents awards to girls ranking high in the N. E. D. T. Honor Sfudenfs Receive Recognifion Brother John addresses assembly, Academic Awards Night takes place May 28th in the school auditorium. Brother Leo Willett and Sister Mary Patricia an- nounce awards for both divisionsg Brother John and Sister Eliza- beth present the awards to the recipients. Students receive Awards under the following categories: Perfect attendance, Music, Latin, Mathematics, National Educational Development Tests, Voice of Democracy Contest, Honor students for the year. Brother John Kurz, S. M. , Principal of the Boys' Division, gives the address in which he restates the important purpose of the school, academic excellence. Brother John assists Sister Elizabeth in distribution of academic letters to honor students.
