On September 5, 1961, the doors of the new co-institutional high school were first opened to 397 Catholic students from the city of Fort Worth, Hurst, and Arlington. This is the campus. Inside these walls rests the armor of young Christians - armor which they will use to battle the enemies of Christ - to face Those who have dared the white re- publics. Bishop Gorman recites spe cial prayers of the dedi- cation of a school. High School Dedicated His Excellency, The Most Rev. Thomas K. Gorman, Bishop of Dallas-Fort Worth officiated at the formal dedication of Our Lady of Victory High School on Sunday, May 6, 1962. After the formal prayers and blessing of school and faculty residences Frank Mills presided as Master of Ceremonies at a program in the auditorium where guests heard Dr. Louise Cowan, Head of Humani- ties Division at the University of Dallas, speak on importance of Catholic education.
