Sister Marie Therese Another field in which woman's position is becoming very important is in the business and pro- fessional world . The young woman who chooses this state must realize her duty to uphold the splen- did opportunity to portray the Christian ideal of womanhood. She may freely engage in many noble and diversified good works and thereby contribute toward the total good of both society and the nation. We find this ideal realized in the life of Miss Irene Dunne. She, a Catholic, with others that we could mention, is a wholesome flowering in Hollywood's garden of considerable wild growth Miss Dunne, in l949, was the selection for the Laetare Medal made by the award committee of the University of Notre Dame. In announcing the award, the Very Rev. John J. Cavanaugh, presi- dent of the University, said: Miss Dunne is an example of talented Christian womanhood in a pro- fession and community unfortunately publicized for the briefness of marriages and careers.
