Basketball, a sport which demands much skill, is an outsanding activity at Our Lady of the Valley High School. Trained hy an excellent coach. lVlr. Kenneth lVlurray, pampered hy a lovely group of cheerleaders, and supported hy the loyal student body, the mein- bers of the team strive hard for victory. Although the haskehall season runs from Decemher to March, the candidates for the team really practice on their own for months in advance. However, when scheduled practice lmegins, the team under the watchful eye of the coach plans its court strategy for the Season. lVlanagers John Carney, llohert Kuhick and llichard llowicli deserve special mention for their good work this year. As is customary with lNlonsignor's good taste, and Father llolandis approval, the teanfs distinctive attire is the envy and admiration of every other team on the schedule.

Although Thomas Husvar Was not one of the starting tive. he showed hue spirit which gave oneouragemcnt to the other members of the team. IL l at it f 3 itll Bob Hladney, number 34, one of the for- wards on the team is famous lor his jump shots and his dribbling. Bob, who is a senior has been a real asset to his team during the basketball season. S 1 2 MM -an A -As g.2iI..
