In addition to his words of con gratulation to Martin, John also sent his good wishes for success to the Student Assistance Association as a whole and his lasting gratitude and appreciation to the members of the Faculty. During this past year, the Student Council has dis' cussed many matters of interest and importance to the Stuf dent body, sponsored several afterfschool dances and handled other activities effectively, May the years to come see our Student Assistance As- sociation mount ever higher on the ladder of accomplishment, making ever new and bigger strides along the road of achieve' ment.

llllll RETREAT-THE A SWER T0 llllll RETREAT ln the midst of our husy school life filled with Joys of aeconiplisliment and pleasures of companion' ship we stopped lcmolted and listened! to the words of the Divine Teacher in the silence of Ref treat. Under the capahle spiritual guidance Of Father Lucian Roharge, our students walked down the 'lValley of Silence and Prayer, keeping elose to the Mzister and therehy eoniing to a deeper realizaf tion of the meaning of life and its purpose, We learned how to strengthen our daily armor, piece hy pieee, making ready for those future days to he spent, alas, far from the sheltering arms of our Alma Mater, hut ever close to its standards and hearing upon our hearts the imprint of its shining Seal. Our Retreat Master, Reverend Lucian Robarge, O.F.M. Conv., as he begins Mass on the opening day of our Retreat, assisted by our senior altar boys, Luhr OlBrien and Charles Poppre. The close of the retreat was marked by a most enjoyable Communion Breakfast served to all the students of our High School in the Auditorium of the school. This was presided over by our revered pastor, Monsignor Michael A. Mechler, his two zealous and devoted curates, Father Boland, and Father McFarland, together with their guest, our Retreat Master, Father Lucian. HJIII
