Mr, Arnold Codispoti, who is doing a great Joh in rehuilding the O.L.V. Track Team, has scheduled seven meets this year. The team will be huilt around such seniors as Vw'hitey Lee, Jimmy Reilly, john Duff, Frank Wheatley, and Herb lvlardany, all veteran performers. Also expected to he of great help this year are such boys as john Meiizel, Jim Ahearn, Jack Drudy, Bill Ivlonte and Dielt Chivarou. Mr. Codispoti has heen pleased at the iiumher of Freshmen who have turned out for practice and predicts that the Valley will he a strong contender for Track and Field Honors in future years. The first important meet will he the Seton Hall Relays on April 25th. Our Track Coach, Mr. Codispoti, who plans big things for 1949 Track members. Lefty Cinoeehio was at first, Boh Carrol was at the keystone saelt, Charles IVleLaughlin at short and Sam Cianti in the hot eorner. Jim Ennis vied for outfield posts. James Solomon and Richie Vogt were our prize pitchers. The outfielders were all hard hitters and the infield proved a hriek wall to opposing hatters. There were a few intielders who made the first stringers hustle, Valley entered a seventeenrgame state tournament on April 19, highlighted hy games with Orange High, Seton Hall and St. Benediets Prep.
