Marilyn Witham auditions for a scholarship in music sponsored for Catholic high school students by the Archdiocese. Musicians May Merit Scholarships Musically inclined students at OLM develop their talents through Chorale and private music, under the supervision of Sisters Mary Protase and Huberta. As an incentive to further study, scholarships, based on instrumental or vocal abilities, were awarded for the first time this year. Sister Mary Protase served as general chairman of the Archdiocesan talent committee sponsoring the grants.

Dcbatcrs Brin g Home Awards Coached by Sister Mary Madonna, OLM de- baters participated in the State League and Thomas More Forum. They attained an ex- tensive knowledge of world affairs as they ar- gued in confirmation or rejection of this year's debate topic, Resolved: That the United Nations Should Be Significantly Strengthened. Underclass debaters, Mary Ann Stella, Kathy Smart, Kathy McElman, and Paula Francis, get together during a research-and-discussion session in preparation for an approaching debate. As Dan Stella debunks affirmative arguments, Carolyn Tushis and Bemadette Zirncosky listen attentively to marshall rebuttal points. 44
