Mercy offers courses in shorthand, typing, and bookkeeping to prepare students for their future careers in the business world. Mrs. DuCharme, Typing I instructor, teaches Nancy Gerger basic skills of speed and accuracy. the Sharon Amelotte, first year shorthand student, applies business skills publicized on the bulletin board. Sister Mary Timothy supervises the process of operating a mirneograph machine with Student Council officers, Sue Sullivan and Lynn Gayney. 19 Taking advantage of the opportunity afforded bookkeeping students, Karen Tavi, Dawn Calice, and Pat Hiltz master the technique of using the billing machine.
