Would we care enough for our teen agers9 Vvould we stop talkmg about juvenlle delinquency and start acting? Would we be wilhng to spend nme and effort and money? Ill: IT MUST BE LASTING POISON BOON 9 DDT 42 FRII- ND in need is a friend indeed Xes this is an old adage but, oh how true' What is a friend but one who sticks by us in our failures as well as our successes Each new acquaintance offers the possibility of a new friend, but everyone 15 not worthy of being called fnend Therefore we must choose carefully those who qualify F rlendshlp is not merely a here today, gone tomorrow affair it must be lasting The person whom we call frzend must be someone with something That something must be a possession of high ideals But now comes the question what are those high ideals? We might head the list with respect first of all for Christ, then for others and for self Trustxx orthmess and lovalty could be added which after all we do expect to find in any young Catholic man or woman Christ reigns in each one of our hearts and so should Christ be in the hearts of long lasting companion STANDS for dalnty We have all at one time or another, stopped in a quaint llttle gift shop that IS filled to capacity wlth fine, rare, almost untouchable thlngs As we View these fragile novelties, we search for an adequate phrase for such beauty As vue Glance at bone china plate or a Dresden figurine the phrase that fills fr om our lips IS Isn t that dainty When people look at us the women of todax can thex see in us an intangible fine qualltva Can they say with seracxty, Isn t she dainty D stands for decorous A graceful motion of the hand a gentle step, a quiet controlled voice a face abloom with a radiant smile a courteous entrance a polite CXIY an interesting conversation, the reflection of a loving heart all these stand for decorous Can we the women of today proudly bear the D for distinguished decorum T stands for trim but trimness IS not only a characteristic of a feminine ward x 1 .
