Were those frightful figures the wood W1tChCS whlch Dew Drop and Twmkle Toes had warned her about or were they lust the shadows m the ram? Suddenly .lame Sue be came panic strlcken Oh how fr1ghtened she was' She tr1ed to run faster but her feet just wouldn t obey Suddenly she trlpped and fell Just as a startlmg flash of llghtnlng streaked grotesquely across the sky Now thoroughly fr1ghtened Janne Sue be gan to cry She sobbed and sobbed Oh how sorry she was Never agam would she dlsobev Mommy Just as she thought her heart would break from sorrow and that she would die of frlght she heard a fam1l1ar voxce one she hadnt heard for a long t1me It was Bunny Yes loyal Bunny hadn t deserted her Are you really sorry Jame Sue? answered jame Sue between sobs Well then I guess we can forgxve you thls txme concluded Bunny But lf lt ever hap pens agam Oh xt won t It vson t assured Janle Sue I promlse All rlght I guess Ill stav But now the storm s over and I thmk we d better get home before Mommle starts supper On the way home the sun came out and jame Sue just couldn t get home fast enough to tell Mommle how very sorry she was That nxght after Mommle had lov1nglV tucked ,lame Sue and her reconciled playmate m bed and turned out the llght Bunnv told Janle Sue that as long as she stayed good the goodness and the happmess of the elves and the fames were hers and because she was s ery sorrv she was stlll the bestest glrl ' 1 . . . , 1 1 . , . 1 ' - . . , . 1 77 - . . , . .
