eniafut From the beginning to the end of senior year the spotlight is turned on studies. Between the preparation for Regents and college entrance exam- inations each senior finds herself working doubly hard either to main- tain good grades or to boost the ones that have slipped. The importance of studies assumes new proportions, as good marks suddenly come to mean the difference between a diplo- ma and a five-year high school course. However, the spotlight does shift occasionally. Senior year is, after all, the year of events. First and fore- most, of course, is that night of all nights - the Senior Ball. The thrill of anticipation! The excitement of the night itself! Enchantment is the password. Following in rapid suc- cession come the graduation por- traits and the day, though not mo- mentous in itself, when each senior is measured for her cap and gown. Cn this day, graduation suddenly seems but minutes away. Qnd those minutes slip by very quickly. Hlmost before anyone real- izes it, the day which culminates four long, hard, wonderful years is at hand, and the seniors walking down the Chapel aisle to receive their di- plomas, once again, as countless others have done, surrender their treasured places to their successors.
