RK? conducted by Sisters of Mercy, Brooklyn Th word provides . . . a light to guide, a path to follow. The Psalmist, filled with a creature's knowledge of his dependence upon the Creator's guidance, composed the beautiful and significant hymn of praise: Thy word is a light to my path . . Like the illuminating brightness of light which reaches out and makes clear obscure objects, Christ's word clarifies our muddled and confused ideas of life, explains the purpose of our existence and the means to eternal happinessg like the glow of light which never ceases to shine while its source is present, Christ's word is always available to those seeking truth and guidance along the path of their life. We have been taught His word. Our path has been illuminated by His counsels, principles, and example. Each incident or event pictured here in the Olma has had its motivation in Christ Himself. He has been behind, over, within everything we accomplished. His word has been the light that has led us thus far along the way -- to our graduation. May each page, therefore, make clear the truth of our theme: Thy word is a light to my path . . .' lik ,. . r. ,Y NQ,,xg, -, Ffh 4,g1:Q'k Y' 48 ww! sg fgxf W... Our standards have been setg we have learned by them, and we intend to live by them. The Chapel doors have stood open to us, and there in His Presence we have been inspired by the Word. We have found Him everywhere: in the classrooms, at our basketball games, on the buses, and in our own homes. Now we are about to leave Mercy Academy. The ray of light which guides our path is intangible, and we can find it only by heeding the teachings and example of Christ. We hope and pray that we shall not stray from this path, but that we shall be guided by His word upward and onward to our eternal salvation.
