159 ' The Senior Class of Our Lady of Lourdes would like to dedicate the 1972 edition of the Lourdean to Mr. Richard Beams. Mr. Beams has throughout his eleven years here strived to be not only a teacher but a friend to students of both past and present Lourdes. In the past two years he has given to our school two DCSL football championships, along with being named DCSL Coach of the year for the 1970-71 football season. This year he also led his team to a well deserved DCSL basketball titleg another first in our athletic history. Mr. Beams has instilled in both his teams and students of Lourdes, especially the Class of 1972, a greater appreciation of good sportsmanship and a desire to excel in all they attempt. He has gone far beyond his prescribed duties as Athletic Director to become a friend and advisor to many in Lourdes. This year's senior class would like to offer this edition of the Lourdean to Mr. Beams as our tribute to him-as a man, a teacher, and as our friend. We hope that in the future this book will be to him a reminder of us, as it will be to us a reminder of him and the part he has played in our four years at Lourdes.
