2 This year's IV volleyball team spiked into a great season losing only one game in the league and having a 12-8 record overall. The team really dug deep into long, hard hours of practice to get themselves ready to face the opposing teams. It all turned out to be Worthwhile when the IV team bumped their way into a successful season Winning the league title for the second year in a row. Christine Nuss served as a good, understanding coach. She was always there to help with the necessary skills to win the game and to offer helpful advice. IV volleyball set: ls. Ski team lifts to victor The ski team has not had any spectacular re- cords in the past few years but this year's team has really skiied well. With the coaching of Tom Rogers, the girls' team and the boys' team have improved immensely. They raced through those gates like Ingemar Stenmark. The team has really made a terrific comeback. The girls lost only three of nine races and placed third in divisionals. They qualified for the southeast Michigan ski invitiational race for the first time in Lakes history. The boys' 'team hit a few icy patches and came up with a record of 1 and 8, but Richard Lane made top 20 in Divisional. It took much work to get where there are today. There were many hard racing practices lasting two hours or more and many hours of standing in the cold, with numb toes, fingers, and noses. TOP: Iill Cook and Pat Mountain await the final results.
