....... .....,..........-...... ,sr ' L Varsity serves up victor This year's Varsity Volleyball team showed how hard work and skill can really pay off. They kept up a winning tradi- tion by being undefeated in their league, for the third year in a row. Their coach, Mr. Wilgenbush, taught the team how to be prepared to receive both serves and spikes. The season was full of the usual apprehension because when you have been undefeated it seems as though everyone is out to get you. But that didn't discourage the victorious vol- leyball team. The girls went into the playoff with hopes of going all the way and holding up Lakes winning tradition. TOP: Lynn Boyd and Tracy Beadlescomb make a joint effort to block the other team. 2 This year's IV volleyball team spiked into a great season losing only one game in the league and having a 12-8 record overall. The team really dug deep into long, hard hours of practice to get themselves ready to face the opposing teams. It all turned out to be Worthwhile when the IV team bumped their way into a successful season Winning the league title for the second year in a row. Christine Nuss served as a good, understanding coach. She was always there to help with the necessary skills to win the game and to offer helpful advice. IV volleyball set: ls.
