Check out library science One of the great opportunities at Lakes is being able to work in the library, thus getting the knowledge of how to use all the media. Mrs. Iaski and the students spent most of their time organizing the card catalogue and updating the reference materials. Students who take Library Science receive an English credit and learn how the library is organized under the Dewey System. They also help other students find the information they need. Students who wish to take Library Science a se- cond year will be library aids and will receive an elective credit. The second year, students will be more involved with cataloguing new materials and assisting Mrs. Iaski. There is also parent involvement in the media center. Some twenty mothers give their time to help Mrs. Iaski and the students in the library. The library itself is growing in size. During the summer Mrs. Iaski received more paperback books for our reading enjoyment and she also received new career information material.
