This year with the addition of Mr. White and Dr Martin to our old favorites, Mrs. Allen and Mr. Rine, Lakes has the formula for success in science. We had many new projects in science including the suc- cessful science fair and we had many winners. In our everyday classes, the eighth graders in ISCS dreamed of roasting marshmallows over Bunsen burners and finding a cure for homework. The ninth graders were astonished at the wonders of life science as Mr. White taught the marvels of ecology. In biology, Mr. White and Mrs. Allen joined forces to create an interesting atmosphere. If you passed by the chemistry and physics labs this year, you might have quickened your steps as Dr. Martin created another potion to sedate her students. The students at Lakes are ambitious and realize that science is an important factor in their future. OPPOSITE TOP LEFT: As Sue Serden, Kathy Rigonan and Kim Sevcech look at cheerleading pictures. ....., ,.i......... , f af ' L Add math to your Hard work plus study equals a Laker math student. With several classes available, Laker students had a hard time deciding which math course to take. Sr. Anne, Dr. Martin and Mr. Fader were important factors in the mathematical division. Dr. Martin shaped up the geometry class with the use of triangles, lines, circles and squares, Mr. Fader made math exciting and fun for all with his interesting Friday mind reading games and Sr. Anne was ready to teach students the basics and formulas to help solve the problems of every- day life before they become too complicated. The time and efforts of the mathematics teachers were multiplied by their enthusiasm and yielded on ex- cellent product, Laker math students. Even during long periods of frustration and doubt, the students pulled through to measure up. To sum it all up, learning to solve math problems became easy as pi!
