l Lakers at the Silverdome The Lakers entered the Silverdome knowing they were about to face the tough Detroit Benedictine football team for the Prep Bowl ti- tle. The first half of the game did not turn out too well as Benedictine held a 14-0 lead. However, the Ravens were not prepared for the strong Laker second effort, as the tough Laker 4 offense came back to tie the game 14-14 at the end of regulation time, sending the contest into overtime. The Lakers scored first on a 22 yard field goal to take a 17-14 lead, and ft seemed that the Lakers would pull off another upset. The Ravens, however, managed to penetrate the tough Laker defense on a fourth and one from the one yard line to win. Last yearys football team was called The Team of Destiny, so it seems a fitting nickname to call this year's squad, The Team of Pride.
