Once they were unknown but the power hidden within them flamed into action so that their careers shine forth like gleaming stars for all to see. They have brightened the world and made it a better place to live in. Among them are priests, nuns, scientists, inventors, etc. But behind the brilliant names of these famous people lie infinite toil and patience. Graduates of Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy, within you are great powers. Give them an opportunity to expand, to grow, and to flourish, but remember always, that the greatest power is your Catholic Religion, for it has produced the greatest men and women of all ages-Saints-Religion sends us forth to fight life's battle and to bear Christ's banner with the motto Semper Fidelis. He bids us lift up our hearts from the passing things to fix them on things that are above and to win our eternal reward by the practice of humility, charity, obedience, courage, and above all, by Christian Modesty. Modesty, the mirror of peace and holy recollection, finds a fitting symbol in the sweet but simple violet that suns the glare of the midday sun.
