VALEDICTORIAN SALUTATOMAN Catherine Harting Four years of study and determination have paid off for valedictorian Cathy Harting From fresh man year to senior she has earned many scholastic honors But judging from the extra hours she spends in the Chemistry lab and her vast amount of reading on varied subjects personal satisfac- tion outranks awards in Cathy s eyes This year she received a commendation for her perform- ance in the National Merit Tests ranking in the 98'loi1e Her interests are not confined to studies however She has been a member of the Sodality, the Arena Players and the Debate Club partici- pating in several plays and speech tournaments She works weekends and evenings as a librarian at the Oak Cliff Public Library Cathy Harting proves correct the adage that you only get out of something what you put in, Mary Margaret Dugan Her role as salutatorian is not the first honor for Mary Margaret Dugan She was a finalist in the National Merit Exams ranking in the 99'loi.1e A devoted student her interests also include the Sodality Science and Debate Clubs President of the Debate Club she and her partner have added four debate trophies and a medal to the L G C uophy case As copy editor of THE REV ERIES Mary had a big job and handled it well After all her successes none of us were surprised when Mary was announced as saluta torian of 1959
