Such skills prepare us for our future in a world in which the word is all powerful. Shorthand and typing courses round out the curriculum by giving these abilities a technical polish, Future Homemakers of America, Katherine Mil- ler, Linda Zabojnik, Pat Dixon, and Kay Wood, work desperately to complete those skirts, Making toy animals ab- sorbs Margie Pearson and other members of the home ec class.

PHYSICAL EDUCATIGN KEPT US FIT. With the acquisition of a new gym, physical education took on added meaning to us. We drilled on basic exercises to improve our figures and coordination. The trampoline and tumbling mats gave us exciting physical workouts and several ping- pong tables provided sport for the less active. Mrs, Callan and Mrs, Albrecht, who replaced her in March, helped us become proficient in the games of volleyball and bas- ketball, The activities of the P.E. classes were climaxed by a 'Trip to the Moon presented by the tumbling team, A freshman P,E, class practices deep knee bends Valerie Lawrence balances Ann Lynn while Joyce Johnson does a handstand. Janet Hofmelster finds her first experience on the trampoline exhilarating. Susan Schanz, Valerie Lawrence and Marie Bass wait their turn,
