CLASS HISTORY There have heen four great events in the history of this world. The tirst, the appear- ance of Adam and Eve, the second, the crossing of the Atlantic Qcean hy Cotumhus, the third, the reign of Jack Dempsey, and the fourth, the entrance of the class of '42 into High School. Ot these the First three are ot' minor importance. Adam and Eve, I hetieve are now dead. Columbus has moved to Ghio, and Jactc Dempsey is just a faded cautittower. But the class of '42 not only is history hut is stittmatcing history. On September 19, 1958, twenty-two meetc, frightened freshmen crept unhesitatingty through the portals of L.G.C. What instruments of torture might he awaiting us we did not tcnowg from the dungeon horror ot medieval England to the guittotine of France, to the electric chair of modem America we suspected and expected everything. tn spite of our fears we prospered that year and little hy little our intelligent natures hegan to assert themselves, t is all ended in happiness and success. Then dawned that much longed-for day, the moming of our entrance into the reatms of peace and serenity -1 The Sophomore Class. We hegan this year with a determination to surpass the class of the previous year- this we did at the Camivat. The same year we edited the Chimesu and when we were not husy with this we were waging war with Ceasar, or struggling with atgehra. How we tootced forward to the usuat class picnic at the end of the year. Ftushed with the glory of our two preceeding years, we entered our Junior Year. Among our studies there was shorthand in which suhject we teamed many short and successful ways of avoiding homework and even more successful ways for not completing it. Our Junior-Senior Prom was the highlight of that year. The Senior year is att too recent and fresh in our memories to need historical repro- duction. Rather, I thintc it will he more in keeping it we endeavor to tatce stock and list the damages which our passage has wrought. Of the damages to the schoot t dare not report, the less said ahout the front steps, the drinking fountains and the pencited hootcs, the hetter for att. Of damages to our minds there has heen tittte. There have heen many reported physical damages inctuding as most notahte hrotcen hearts, seventeen in numher. All in att we report to graduation in fair condition and with very great hopes for the future. The tast tour years have heen happy ones. Qur principal and our teachers have done everything that human beings possihty coutd do to matce our time spent here hoth profit- ahte and pleasant. Qur associations with one another have been very pleasant too, and fruitful of tasting friendships that Witt continue forthe remainder of our tives. Whatex'er our success and future happiness t am sure that each one of us wilt he ahte to toot: hack on our days at L.G.C. and say: Those were the four happiest years of my tifef, - Domus ANN Page Fifteen
