'-.1-.!'r.1.+': S-W-,4.L June 7, 1956 ear idfy, As I sit here writing the final pages of this year-my last at Our Lady of Angels High School-my mind pauses in retrospect over the joys and even the disappoint- ments of 1955-1956. Impressions are lasting, they say. Perhaps that is the reason why I felt that these particular impressions should be put into our yearbook, so fittingly entitled Amaranth. Opening day was a little different from most years. Confusion reigned as students, old and new, roamed the halls in search of recently numbered classrooms. Freshies, in particular, were delighted at the sight of their lost big sisters. , After a few days, school life resumed its normal pattern: classes, homework, and a host of drives. To lighten the burdens, we had dances, sports events, and class activities. Occasionally, we enjoyed outside talent. That star-studded night, Friday, April 13, had no superstitious significance. In reality, it was a night to be remembered-the night of the Junior-Senior Prom. Margie Vitale was a lovely and charming queen. Then came Graduation. The first glimpse of my snowy white cap and gown sent chills running through me. I realized it was the end of one phase of my life and the beginning of another. Mingled with these thoughts is another long-lasting impression, left by my be- loved Senior religion teacher, Reverend Edwin Schick, O.F.M. Really, his spiritual guidance helped me tremendously this year. Through him, I gained a real insight into the true devotion to Mary. He actually radiates Mary in his acceptance ofjoys and disappointments, in his religious instructions, in his dramatic assemblies, and in his original musical compositions. In recognition of the lasting impression that he has made during his fourteen- year association with Our Lady of Angels High School, the Seniors of 1956 dedicate this yearbook of memories to him.
