fi ' ll I I I HAT ARE MEMORIES, but the haunting themes of melodies, once played in full Crescendo? The songs end, but the experiences are not always separated from our souls. So, too, it is with our memories of Our Lady of Angels High School. just four years ago, as freshmen, we gazed in awe upon O. L. A.'s halls. We experienced that hilarious initiation day and a host of other events, but it was our first look that counted- that breath-taking sight of those glorious angels, holding aloft their flaming torches of Christian enlightenment. With sincere fervor and enthusiasm we raised our hearts to God with those torches and thanked Him for the memory. Bittersweet was our sophomore year, for here we delved into deeper study. Hectic, jovial volleyball, basketball, and baseball games became our big moments. We cheered ourselves hoarse for the glory of the Green and Gold. We were now true boosters of O. L. A., no longer rookies. We belonged! We do not believe we can ever forget the Junior Prom, the highlight of our next year. No matter how many suitors lay their hearts at our feet in the years to come, we shall always recall our prom date, that beautiful corsage, and a glorious evening that ended all too soon. Truly, another happy memory! Finally, we are to experience the greatest moment of all- GRADUATION. Unsteady voices will whisper farewell. Clad in immaculate caps and gowns, grasping our long-awaited diplomas, we shall take one last lingering look at our loved Alma Mater. Even now as we grope for the courage to utter good-bye, we find consolation in our wonderful memories. Let us hope that the coming years will make us more appreciative, will help us strike the right note on life's highway, so that when Master Death lifts his baton, we shall hear those words that will be music to our ears: Come, ye blessed of My Father Only then, can we re-live the nostalgic big moments which this, our 1948 Anmranffa, presents.
