HEN WE THINK of what Catholic Education in the United States has accomplished through re- sources which have in a very large measure been the offerings of the poor, we must recognize our duty to thank God for His blessings on our Catholic Schools. Bishops, priests, members of religious communities, parents, and the devout laity haue considered sacrifices for the Catholic education of our youth as an ordinary daily duty. ARCHBISHOP MCNICHOLAS

The thought of it inspires him to use every possible hel to achieve it. His workin for this or that oal P S S thus becomes a second nature to him, and success is the necessary outcome. Looking with the eye of Faith into the mirror of conscience, we know, and We must unmistakably re- alize that God is our destination, our goal and purpose in life. We are called to higher joys than thebaubles of this World can provide. These joys consist in the possession of God as the Supreme Object of every noble aspiration of the soul. When Holy Communion is received, the only reason Why these joys are not tangibly ours, is because we see now through a glass, in a dark mannerf' But what of repeated association with Christ in Holy Communion? Frequent meetings under pleasant sur- roundings tend to promote love, to seal a friendship.
