Our presentation of the play The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden was the setting for our celebration of our big sisters’ Ring Day. We sang the song I’ll be There by the Jackson 5 for them. Our mistakes were bypassed with a few giggles and eye rollings. . . May, 1971. Anti-war protesters in Washington D. C. fail in their at¬ tempt to close down the United States government; more than 7, 000 arrests, a record for the city, are made. Frosh Day, our initiation into O. L. A. enabled us to demonstrate our talents as we became trans¬ formed into fairy-tale characters by the Seniors. We laughed and blushed at our antics. . . October 2, 1970. The constitutionality of the 1970 Voting Rights Law, including the amendment lowering the voting age from 21 to 18 in the United States was upheld by a panel of three Federal Court judges in Washington. 7
