OUR LIFE... OUR MOTHER 4 And like the rise and fall of the sea and the Ijk unswerving path of the sun in the skies — 1 Our hearts be purified, in time, | of their hardness, of their meaninglessness, of their death. Then we will approach the cool dusk as Thy children, eagerly awaiting the rest and peace of a cradle ' s warmth and a mother ' s touch. Jane Crombie, ' 60 We stand so trustingly on life ' s threshold — ' See — the captive daylight bursts forth, the brilliant sun is warm, life is so beautiful . . . To be alive and in our youth! Mother, we are so fragile; the flame of our idealism flickers and falters — our hearts are restless and searching — Give us the wisdom to seek truth in life ' s school that our hearts may beat in perfect rhythm with Thine.
