Senior Officers MARY JO DELLINGER, Secretary RAY VENATOR. Vice President SARA FERGUSON. Treasurer GARY LUKE. President MR. THOMAS. Sponsor Class of 1957 To be or not to be. that is the question. This oft-quoted phrase was well representative of the 1957 senior, as each of us was obliged to make decisions which would shape our destin- ies. Conscious of the hastening time. 380 seniors, under the able sponsorship of Mr. Bob Thom- as. strove to make the very most of their final year of O. H. S. life. Term themes, football and basketball games. Friday evenings at the Corral. the tribulations of Macbeth, music and drama, college representatives' interviews, the Junior-Senior Prom.............all these were molded into the busy life of the average upperclassman. It seems but a very short time ago that we were confused little sophomores determined to conquer every new challenge presented. Out of stiff competition for student council, class officers, prized positions on athletic teams, and sophomore cheer-leaders emerged a true spirit of pride and loyalty among the new Bulldog rooters. This same whole-hearted spirit pre- vailed as industrious juniors added new honor and distinction to the fine record already estab- lished. Finally, as the zero-hour of graduation grew near, this feeling created a glad yet sad mood within the seniors. Although we soon will leave Ottumwa High, we take a part of it with us in our hearts and minds. The memories of three wonderful years will be cherished forever. Page 18
