CMissing: Joe Klimab Sporting an unhealthy batting average of .121 and committing an average of 5 errors per game, the Ottoville baseball teamfail- ed to come up with a victory in its three encounters this spring. Fort Jennings spoiled the Big Green's opener as they squeezed past the Locals 5 to 4. Hamil- ton, Vaughnsvi1le's pitcher, was the big obstacle in the second game, as he twirled a one-hit shutout at the luckless locals. His teammates helped him out by giving him a comfortable o run cushion to work with. ln the P. C. baseball tournament Miller City played snoileras they blast- ed Ottoville pitching for 8 hits and 8 runs, and took an easy 8 to 3 decision. Ottoville pitchers,Don Schlag- baum and Ralph Pohl, walked 11, struck out 12, gave up 19 runs and 16 hits in the three games. The pitchers didn't have very good fielding to back them up, as the team committed 15 errors in the three contests. Ottoville batsmen struck out 27 times, walked 19 times, got 8 hits and 7 runs. Joe Klima had the top batting average with.28O. Jerry Hilvers averaged .200. v- - r Q--- .!
