Teachers pictured: letI to right- Mrs. Ma-har, Miss Johnson In the Library this year we have a new librarian, Miss Johnson. She leads the Otto-Eldred Library Club and the new Funky Pencil Club. The Library is actually called the Library Media Center. There a student can view filmstrips or filmloops, as well as find a book for pleasure. Current magazines are on display for students to keep up on current news, fashions, sports, etc. Space is also provided for students who wish quiet study time. Mrs. Mahar, Spanish teacher, is involved only with students of the 9-12 grades. She teaches Conversational Spanish, giving students a chance to speak the language. Also offered are Spanish l-IV. Those courses cover all aspects of Spanish grammar. At the same time, the cultures and people of Spain and Spanish American countries are studied. Frequent vocabulary tests as well as an occassional composition are required to increase skills. CRACK THOSE BOOKS — SPANISH OR ENGLISH! 19

Mr. Raydo tries to encourage individual students to remain in school by providing them a meaningful program of study. There have been some changes in this course. They have acquired some individualized learning packets for students unable to be in class. Mr. Carlson, I.E.P. Coordinator, teaches Individual Educational Prescription (Resource Room). This is no longer called Special Education. The objectives of this class are to provide the student with a viable academic program that develops a sense of accomplishment and success, and to prepare the students to be productive members of society. The I.E.P. Resource Room also provides supportive assistance for students who are not enrolled in the I.E.P. room full time.
