Math Science Dept. Clicks Math Science department- eft to right: lirat row, Miaa Fragle, Miaa Leonard, Mr. Zanot, Mr. Green second row, Mr. Pe-lumbo, Mr. Flexman, Mr. Swanson The Math and Science department is working to enlighten students in the Math Science areas. This is a necessity because everything we do today and will do in the future involves math and or science. The students should be able to understand the implications of math and science that we encounter and how this understanding can help better them. Teachers working to achieve this goal are: Mr. Flexman, department chairman; Mr. Palumbo, Mr. Green, Mr. Swanson, Mr. Zanot, Miss Leonard and Miss Fragle. Minor changes have been made, some of which include; the ninth and eight grade sciences have been switched around, and a new computer has been added to the equipment list. These changes will improve the efficiency of the department. Every student takes science a few years of his total six here. New teachers have come to replace ones which have left. They all do the same good job in helping us understand our world, and prepare us to succeed in it.

History Takes Shape The History Department at 0-E has several objectives, as expressed by Mr. Longnecker, the department chairman. The teachers try to give the students a liberal, broad-based view of the world in order to break down certain barriers which exist between students and the world they live in. To increase their understanding of the present, students are taught to analyze the past. By increasing the student’s knowledge of government and economic principles, the teachers create an awareness in the students which enables them to make political decisions. These objectives should enrich the student’s knowledge of past and present. This enrichment allows students to view the world around them intelligently and with an understanding they would not possess otherwise. Carrying out these objectives are: Mr. Longnecker, U.S. History and World History; Mr. Fazio, World History, Economics, and Government; Mr. Burton, World History, Sociology, and World Cultures; Mr. Howard, U.S. History; Mr. Stuart, U.S. History, and World Cultures; and Mr. Green, U.S. History. Through these courses and teachers we all learn. Social Studies department teachers-Firat row, left to right: Mr. Green, Mr. Fazio Second row: Mr. Burton, Mr. Stuart, Mr. Longnecker, Mr. Howard 15
