They said the boys were having a very good season. We went for a Sunday drive and just outside of town we saw Frank Ellinger's million dollar mansion, We recognized it as the one he had to draw for Mrs. Modisett in art. Further down the road a car passed us and when it went Beep-Beep, we knew it had to be Jerry Maxwell. We stopped at Vivian and Jerry Pastorious's house and visited them for a while, On the way home we decided to go to the Community Church where Reverend Neiswinger was preaching and Letha, his wife, was singing a hymn. One evening, while I was visiting the colony's supermarket, owned by LaVerne Shanklin, Iran into Judy Callecod. She is our Red Cross Nurse. She told me all about the work the Red Cross was doing to get a hospital and about all the help that was needed. Later that night, I decided that Ishould call our fuel man, Tom Powers, to bring us some fuel for our furnace, Tom said that he had just delivered some fuel to Archelene Alkire, who owns the colony nursery. She has had a very successful business raising Moonbeam flowers, After Tom left, we decided to go visit Shirley and Harry lleberman, who have a new baby. After four girls, Harry finally got his wish, a little boy, After we were there for a while, Chuck and Dora Grindle came with their two little girls. It was getting late, so we decided to leave. When we got home, I decided I would visit Keith Smith's farm in the morning, When I got there, Ronnie Mitchell and his wife, Sue, were buying hay for their horses. Later, as I was driving home, I saw John Kirkham plowing his corn. I stopped to talk to him and he told me about Bill McClure, who is raising prize-winning Goergia peaches, Further down the road I came upon this modernistic-looking building which turned out to be Archie Mobley's radio station, W-M-O-O-N, We had been invited to Carolyn and Ron Furnace's house for a chicken bar-b-que, We thought we were going to be the only ones there, but to our surprise, Barbara and Art Price were there with their three boys and little girl, Edith and Jim McGrew came later with their four boys and three girls, Jim told me that he had taken up boxing as his profession. Well, Mr. Lloyd, that is about all I can tell you about the class of 59 . We have tried very hard to make a success of our lives, We thank you for helping us on our way.
