Roland Modlln, Fred jones, Coach Fred Spence. The Varsity The Otters got off to a very slow start in the 1945-46 season dropping three out of five games. After their rather discouraging start, the boys gained con- fidence and under the leadership of husky Dafferv Trout and flashy Roland Modlin the team proceeded to make the rest of the season a shining success. After decisive victories over Newport, Clinton, Pimento, Riley, and Glenn, the Otters hit a low evening and lost to Brazil. In the Valley Tourney it was differentg the Hot Ottersu thumped F ontanet and Garfield, the defending champs. Tech expelled the Otters from the tourney after a hard fought game. After the valley tourney they lost to Garfield but defeated Tech. Tech helped the Otters to wind up their season by defeating them in the Sectional. The team has had their ups and downs this season but the Otter Greek High students are very proud of that team. Page T wenty-six
