As you leave high school, you are going into a world filled with opportunities beyond the realm of imagination. Of course there are those who look upon our time with a pessimistic and cynical attitudeg in the development of science, they see nothing but destruction, in the shrinking of our world they see only increased friction and strife. In reality, however, you are stepping into a world in which science has opened frontiers greater than man has ever known before. Air transport and instantaneous communication has brought every man on the face of the earth within easy reach of his fellows. There are actually greater physical frontiers opening today than opened when America moved across the plains of the West. If you are alert to the prospects of the future, if you are willing to work to harness the tools which science is making available, if you are willing to continue to study in order better to understand your fellow men - then you are surely going to reap the harvest of America's golden age - the scientific, the atomic age. We who have worked with you wish you well and sincerely hope that you will look back upon OHS with gratitude for the fine foundation you received in high school. The thousands of graduates who have gone before you have ma de graduation from your high school something to be proud of. As you move forward to make your mark in life, we hope that your loyalty to OHS will 1'91T13lH SU'01'1g and that YOU Will, Wllen occasion allows, return to visit your friends. Good luck. gag!!

DIRECTORS OF OUR PROGRAMS Board of Education Top executives in the OHS radio and TV show are members of the board of education, shown above left to right: Principal lVlacRae Shannon, Dr. Clifford T. Carter, Mr. Daniel H. Riordan, Mr. F. A. Peterson, Mr. Ernest H. Pool, and Dr. H. W. Hessling, recently elected president of the board. These men have worked many hard hours to keep the OHS show on the air. Working a total of 52 years, these men possess individual service records as follows: Mr. Pool, 175 Mr. Peterson, 15g Mr. Riordan, 135 Dr. Hessling, 63 and Dr. Carter, 1. Sound business management and friendly relations with the OHS cast have characterized the work of this board. Through the members' efforts, the show has gained the attention of many educators in Illinois who regard Ottawa as representative of the best in educational production. 6
