The 15350 homecoming was a huge success, and everyone was well pleased with the entertainment. Homecoming day started with a rousing assembly in which Mr. Harold Langer, local attorney, gave a brief review of the 1919 football games in which he was a player. Queen Sue Fahler and her court were then pre- sented. Wayne Robinson, representing the football squad, crowned Queen Sue. Then came one of the big thrills of high school life, the football game. The band, girls' drill squad and drum and bugle corps performed during the half. Ottawa indeed showed her better side at this game, copping a smashing 13 to 0 victory over Dixon. A dance, which was open to the public, was held in Kingman gym after the game, with the Highwaymen playing. Much of the success of the week-end's enjoyment was due to the marshaling of General Robert R. McKay, and civic council adviser Theodore O. Zimmerman. I-' l'r.fv- I' .MMV Hz. H-rn .mm .. Leading 13-0 at halftime the Bulldogs tallied twice more in the final canto to hand the Bucs a 25-0 defeat. With the taste of two defeats in their mouths, the Bucs invaded Mendota to meet a team that had been unbeaten up to this encounter. The Novakmen took the field with a winning determination and played hard, vicious football to hand the Trojans a 13-13 stalemate. The next event was homecoming and the Dixon Duke were the oppo- sition. After a poor first half, the Bucs decided not to let the old grads down and succeeded in scoring twice for a 13-0 victory, the first of the 50 season. Ottawa went westward on Friday the 13th and met up with a fast Spring Valley team that handed the gridders their third defeat, 40 to 7. The Red Devils did not earn many of their points as the locals had a rugged time making things click.
