Physlcal Education Department Miss Maura Conhsk of the smile and the eight o clock girls gym classes Miss Mandi Youmans of the enthusiasm and energy and that little one with the swimming ability Miss Virginia Fedosky took care of the girls phvsical education The girls program thls year vsas a part of the four year rotatlng set up The freshmen and the sophomoi es had six vseeks of soccei fundamental rhythms basketball volleyball softball and track and one semester of swimming Juniors and seniors took SIX Weeks of speedball basketball badminton softball and track and tvs elxe Weeks of social dancing Mlss Fedosky s classes m the pool started with Red Cross intermediate and swimmers tests then wi ent on to Junior hfesaxmg and adx anced swim mers tests Second semester Miss Fedosky conducted a tvso hour senior and eight Juniors in the class studied from Red Cross text books and prac tlced drills and techniques IU the water They were graded on skill reclta tions and tests On March 20 the annual gym exhibit was held and the public got a new of one of the permanent contributions the p e department made to the school this yeal plnneys the short tunic like blouses of different colors which are worn ove1 the traditional green gym suits to dlferentiate team members In charge of the boys physical education classes and all lntramural sports vsere athletlc d1recto1 and coach Mr Gilbert Love and Coach Homer Hankenson The tvso coaches were also 1n charge of all the school com petitne sports for boys The first semester of p e consisted of touch football and the fundamen tals of basketball Volleyball and softball were the mam topics of activity the second semester 16 l l . . . . , . , .
